Occupational field

An occupational field encompasses a group of occupations that are related in terms of line of work, training courses and requirements. An occupational field may result from the combination of several small specialised occupations. Occupational fields offer more possibilities for persons who work in the occupations concerned and, as a consequence, better chances on the labour market.
